Every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm has already been lavished upon us as a love gift from our wonderful heavenly Father, the Father of our Lord Jesus -- all because he sees us wrapped into Christ. This is why we celebrate him with all our hearts! And he chose us to be his very own, joining us to himself even before he laid the foundation of the universe!....Before we were even born, he gave us our destiny; that we would fulfill the plan of God who always accomplishes every purpose and plan in his heart. Eph. 1:3,4a,11 (Passion Translation)
Did you hear that ? He ALWAYS accomplishes every purpose and plan in his heart. And as I'm sure you have quoted many times from Jer. 29:11, his plans are for your welfare. Not only that, but EVERY spiritual blessing has been lavished on us! What are the spiritual blessings you're relishing in today? Have you stopped to think about it? We are dearly loved, chosen, looked after, cherished, adopted, holy-in-his-sight, highly favored. . . for starters. WOW!
As you read through the news and prayer requests below, please remember that I'm fond of you, and so very glad you're part of our little tribe called MRV. May every spiritual blessing be lavished on you today, tomorrow and every day. In Jesus' beautiful and powerful name!!!
During the past 2 months...
Pastor Dino makes it official
It can be a complicated and expensive process to get married. But Pastor Dino and Ajira finally achieved their first goal of getting their marriage certificate from the court, and exchanged rings as a bonus! Please pray they can also afford a cele-bration with blessing by God, family, and friends.
MRV application for license update
We are moving forward with our lawyer(s) to Step 2 of the application as an association. Please pray favor on the lawyers and freedom from corruption, blocks, and delays. Will you agree with us in praying that we receive our license by mid June when we have our 5-year anniversary!
First IAM School in Mozambique!
It's been a long time coming. Pastor Julio came to Pemba to meet with me, and will soon start a discipleship training school through his ministry in Maputo. Others have applied but he's the first one to actually start a school. Pray with us for motivated students and committed teachers to assist him.
MRV Chapa (public taxi) Service:
Our chapa is making daily trips again with some of the covid restrictions having been lifted, and is generating income for MRV which is being stashed away for the time being. We thank God for:
1. A reliable, trustworthy driver after Bill had to fire two others last year for stealing from the income. He's a professional driver and a former mechanic so he takes care of the vehicle well.
2. Relatively little repair, considering the harsh road conditions.
3. Our own MRV member, João, who is progressing steadily in driver school/training so he can eventually operate our chapa, or hopefully by year end, a second chapa!
Please pray with us for protection and favor for our current driver, Ramalan. There are several transit police stops between Pemba and Chiure. There is one officer who "has it in" for our driver and "fines" him several times a month -- just to get money in his pocket; i.e. "pay me or pay a fine". Because he's our driver MRV has to reimburse him. Yes, corruption is rampant here!!! Last week he gave him another fine and revoked his driving permit for three months ... for "speeding" at 78km (48.4 mph) on the main highway outside of town. Is this just, fair, right? No. We live in a fallen world. But GOD can give favor! Ramalan is still riding in our chapa every day, having found a friend to drive for the next 3 months. Let's pray for God's protection and favor on our chapa, on the drivers, and the passengers.
Wanna see what it's like to drive in Pemba? This is on the way to where my grandson stays with his mom.
Covid. It's a part of all of our lives now I think, huh? Here too we got hit, with Bill, Billson and I all dealing with various symptoms which were never officially verified because tests are in short supply, reserved for people traveling or very sick. Little B was quite sick . . .
